Dear Madam Speaker,
With the terrible events caused by 'President' Donald J. Trump over the past weekend, House Democrats must begin an impeachment inquiry.
First, he displays his deep racism and desire for a white only America by his despicable tweets against American Congresswomen. Then, the self-appointed dictator, declares asylum seekers cannot enter the US if they have passed through another country. To further debase American laws, he orders family planning clinics to cease referring women for abortions and allows the return of 'longline' fishing.
Every day there are new steps to dismantle our democracy, embarrass us in the eyes of the world, reduce women, people of color, and LGBT people to second class citizens. He must be stopped now. Every day the Democratic Party looks weaker in the eyes of voters because of their fear to begin impeachment.
Republicans in Oregon and Colorado have filed recall petitions against Democrats because they do not the legitimate laws passed there. They have no concerns that they will turnoff voters. Yet the Democratic Party appears afraid of Trump and keeps delaying action against the most corrupt and morally abhorrent administration in my 70 years.
You must stand with Sen. Schumer in front of the TV cameras and state that Donald Trump has violated his oath of office and committed serious violations of law and public trust. You must convince the caucus that voters will support open inquiries into this administration with a view to impeachment. I would also advise that the House look at impeaching AG Barr for lying to Congress while under oath and his ending of numerous investigations of Trump.
It is vital to do this now. I truly feel that many will turn away from the 'wimpy' Democratic Party without immediate action. I have been a Democrat my entire life, but
may well change my registration to independent if you refuse to act.
Sincerely,
sinkingfeeling

(15,540 posts)I took him to task for his "no" vote yesterday. I will not let up on him. There are so many other things I could be doing right now, but there is nothing that is more important than getting rid of the hateful people in the GOP, starting with trump.
