(99,710 posts)We live in Los Angeles and my girlfriend's brother, wife, and two children from the Philippines visited us. We went to the Los Angeles Museum Of Natural History in Los Angeles and the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. I thought the latter would be a dreadful experience. To my surprise it wasn't. It was fun. There was no liberal or Democratic punching. At the very end there is a film of Reagan speaking and the quote about appealing to people's hopes and not fears is the last impression you're left with.

(46,051 posts)But his actions didn't fit with his persona. In fact, he made right-wing-ism palatable. IMHO, he began the downward slide that got us where we are today.
