Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said that President Trump could be “turning into” a racist, Politico reports.

Said Scaramucci: “I don’t think the president is a racist. But here’s the thing, if you continue to say and act in that manner, then we all have to look at him and say, OK, well, maybe you weren’t a racist, but now you’re turning into one.”

From their knee-jerk reactions when people (particularly people they don't like) are accused of something unsavory, I assumed conservatives were a bunch of binary thinkers: Yes/no; black/white; racist/tolerant. But looking over their reactions to Trump's racist tweets, they show the whole spectrum of nuanced thinking, benefit of the doubt, and "let's not rush to judgment" pronouncements usually associated with bleeding heart liberals.

He has been a racist all his life. He just doesn't use slurs to describe the colored people he doesn't like. Some white people believe if you don't use the N---- word you are not a racist. That isn't true.
