House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she will not take back her remarks describing President Trump's comments as racist earlier today on the House floor.

She went on to say she doesn’t think any of the words the President said would have stood up on the floor.

"Look, I stand by my statement. I’m proud of the attention has been called to it because what the President said was completely inappropriate against our colleagues but not just against them but against so many people in our country and he said to them “go back to where you came from," Pelosi said.
"So I’m proud of my remarks and I’m glad they’re getting the attention they’re getting," she added.

If we cannot even get to the point where we can see this for a mere afternoon, how do they then argue we have the wherewithal to make it thru an impeachment in the House. This afternoon is nothing to what will ensue with an impeachment. We get the Republicans will be like this at every turn. We get that people called to House to testify will simply not show up. If Democrats cannot stomach a couple hours how do they suggest we stick together as a unit to take on all an impeachment will bring us.

Trump will get more emboldened, democrats will get more angry, and republicans will lose votes by supporting an obvious lunatic.

Trump has not gotten higher than mid 40's in approval. He gets praise that means he is doing better while the reality is that is a very low number. In the past 40's was represented as bad. In this Trump world, it means he is polling well.

I am not blaming our Democratic Leaders. I think they have done a killer job keeping Republicans and Trump at bay, as much as they can with someone that has no rules or law.

I trust Pelosi and I have to figure they are taking the steps to do what needs to be done. I have been reading a lot of demand for impeachment here. Then I watch the House today and read Democrats saying this is what bothers Americans. It had me thinking is all. Something I do often. Pelosi stood up and took action. I see the Republicans battle as a fight to get bigotry on the record. I think it is important that Pelosi stand up for congresswomen and get the words in the record combating bigotry.

Then I read Democrats stating that this is silliness. A show. Fighting bigotry and bigotry from the President of the United States is not a show, or silliness. We have to start somewhere.

I agree with the Hoyer what the Republicans did on the floor makes a mockery and worse of the House and ability to work, accomplish or address anything.

Censure made a big difference with Joe McCarthy. If our elected representatives keep standing up like they did today, we may begin to see a difference even before any impeachment hearings begin.
