Trump's pre-nup with Maples said child support

would stop if the child enlisted in the military.

I can understand that initially, or for several years, support might be a moot point if the child, now an adult, had to live on base housing, etc.

But what was that really about? Is there some rational reason to cut off financial support?

Perhaps somewhere the GI Bill doesn't cover in full?

Maybe it's a standard clause.

At least that's what my husband did.....

Also depending on state laws it could be possible for child support to continue for the entire time that the child is in college.....

So it's not always game over at at age 18....

children joined the military? What a hypocrite!

I suppose he didn't want to mar the family legacy of being a long line of yellow, draft-dodging cowards.

If I had a child, I honestly can't think of a single situation where I would end financial support of him or her. The child would definitely be in my will, set to get assets.

Donald Trump is a loathsome human being.

Marla only got $1M because she cheated on him on the beach with a bodyguard under a lifeguard shack. As soon as the child support ran out she sent Tiffany up to cash in on her father's WH plans. Ivanka intervened and got Tiffany a credit card from Daddy, because poor Tiff had no spending money of her own.

It probably was not something done with specific agenda on Trump's part beyond minimizing his financial liability by every means his lawyers could think of.
