All a sleazebag has to do is inherit half a billion dollars and hire some corrupt, highly paid lawyers. Then you can bribe/settle or use the lawyers as a weapon to threaten/intimidate/sue your way out of most any predicament. You may lose a few cases in court if somebody has the nerve, money, and time to come after you, but you've got plenty of money in the bank to cover it and move on.
