Just plain MEAN: Trump Administration Circumvents Congress For Food Benefit Cuts (Again)

Those on SNAP to help make ends meet with needed food assistance are going to be told...."You're out!" The Trump Administration are going after the poor and hungry again.. Who is next? Those on Social Security and have Medicare that were earned? The Trump Regime of Racism and Fascists are coming for them, and us eventually..

Source: Huffington Post

The Republican welfare agenda has been transplanted from legislation to regulation.

The Trump administration is reviving another food benefit cut that Republicans couldn’t get through Congress.

Under a new proposal from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, states would lose some flexibility to set eligibility standards for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ― commonly known as food stamps ― which would push 3 million people out of the program.

“Our job is to make sure folks have the tools they need to move away from SNAP dependency,” Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue told reporters on Monday evening.
Perdue said that food benefits are wasted on wealthy people who should not be eligible.

where SNAP benefits made the difference in feeding their family or doing without. Lack of empathy seems to be quite prevalent among right wingers.

An economy that offers jobs that pay living wages, not slave wages. A progressive tax structure that taxes the higher levels of income at a higher percentage, & investment income should definitely be taxed at a higher rate than labor. Someone who exchanges the hours of their life for wages should not pay a higher tax rate than someone whose money is working for them. An appreciation of labor instead of exploitation of labor.

Our government has been hijacked by the most vile of people, who want it to serve the few, not the many. The GOP is playing for keeps. If the Con stays in the White House another four years, it will be the biggest heist in history - the entire US treasury under his control.

Find something that rarely happens but plays to your base, and make a big thing out of it.

Reminds me of the nit wits who brought up the bill to save the lives of aborted fetuses who managed to live through a botched abortion. Hardly any practicing OB/Gyn said they had ever heard of this happening, ever, yet trump and the GOP went on and on about it at that rally.... "executing babies" ...... and the base salivated all over themselves about it.

Here we have the same thing.... they are saying that millionaires are getting food stamps, so let's cut off food stamps to just about everyone, since it's a corrupt program anyway.

Hey Republicans.... if you want to save some REAL money, how about cutting off all the corporate welfare you dole out to billionaires and banks? Or doesn't that play as well to your ignorant army of MAGAts? How about telling Shitstain to cut his golfing vacations by 90%?

Disgusting.

I wonder if he’s referring to the wealthy $15/hour recipients or the wealthy $8/hour ones, because I know quite a few people whom I would consider to be wealthy and have never heard them utter a word about needing SNAP. This is just another case of bull shit from billionaire Sonny Perdue.

While they don't care now, the next attack could be on SS disability. trump has wanted to go after that for some time now. When his policies affect them more and more, they "could" change their thinking, but then again the real hard core cultists might not.
