Trump says today: "I have the right to do whatever I want as president."

TRUMP: "Then I have an Article 2, where I have the right to do whatever I want as president."

(Article 2 does not in fact empower the president to do whatever they want.)

think that this speech, in it's entirety, is alarming. He is telling his moral cypher army that he can do anything he wants.
They are going to believe him. He also flashed a white power hand gesture while talking about AOC. He repeats it throughout. He is out of control. WHEN CAN WE REMOVE HIM?

This should be headline news.

Americans should be in the streets demanding his immediate impeachment.

I fanticize. The insidious shift in power is well underway. Laws are being undone and new ones added by executive order and not by any legislative action. Vital agencies are being crippled by funding cuts, stripped of qualified experts and helmed by some temp; one of those ass kissing Trump cronies who answer to him alone. The Justice dept is a wholly owned Trump subsidiary, kowtowing to Trump's capricious whims.

Trump is right, he really can do whatever he wants as president.

He was a wealthy layabout who hung out with the disreputable types of high and low society, had sexual tastes on the youngish side, found out that hawking the conservative Optimate line of flim-flam was the way to wheedle into the corridors of power, became dictator after defeating the anointed and inevitable opponent for consul, and started to conduct proscriptions that liquidated opposition in the Senate and patrician classes and made everybody too scared to stop him.

Biggest difference between the two is that Sulla didn't have bone spurs and served his nation. Plus, he voluntarily resigned from power. But otherwise, Trump reminds me of Sulla more than anybody else from the old Republic.
