While I feel he is a patriot, I also feel he is a Republican who doesn't want to rock the boat. Our only hope is if they go after the FBI, if they do I believe he will strike back. He has invested a lot of his life and energy into the bureau and he won't stand for Gym Jordan or the other numb nuts going after it.
The only way we can get rid of these people is at the ballot box. Not just the Presidency, but we must keep the house and reclaim the senate just in case. We MUST unite behind a candidate early enough that our party is not out of money and can fight him. He is going to be flush with cash and if we have a dog fight until April it will cost us the election.

(2,187 posts)Most people have no idea what's in the report and this will enlighten them. Have hope! They have no idea what they're about to learn! The reaction is going to be interesting and will be a good gauge to the next election.

(11,949 posts)The only thing that has ever mattered is 2018 and 2020. Everything else is just a side show.

(33,342 posts)they've already gone after the FBI, and cowed it into submission. the CIA as well.
Mueller won't "strike back". Barr wouldn't allow him to testify if there was a possibility of that.
Hell, Barr might refuse to let him testify still. The day is young.

(424 posts)because they are Republicans. Same with the Military and PD's and the FBI. They have all made it clear knowing the present danger, that their party affiliation is what matters.

I fully expect his answers to be "please refer to the report" and "I can not comment on that due to the blanket immunity asserted by the AG".
And one would expect that the House members have already read the report, right? I just do not get the point of this testimony.

(13,103 posts)After watching testimony from Christopher Wray this morning, my expectations are less than zero.
Republicans are unable to tell the truth or answer questions that do not favor their party.
They have put party before country on too numerous occasions to mention.

Will they get fooled again, probably.
Me, I figure that Mueller will not be of much help and if something better comes of it I will be pleasantly surprised.
The real world may suck, but it is what it is.

"The only way we can get rid of these people is at the ballot box." Yep. Lack of conviction in us causes us to refuse to give enough power to our representatives to do what they know needs to be done.
All this anxious second-guessing was the norm among the few emotionally invested during the 2 years that Watergate dragged on also. No one should imagine Democrats who believed we needed to impeach Nixon were happy when he was reelected by a 49-STATE SWEEP in the middle of all that.

(2,199 posts)He will provide verbal testimony that will be all over the news and expose Americans who haven't read it or even know much about it.
It will help build a case for impeachment which needs a majority of Americans on board.
