MANHATTAN (CN) - Military prosecutors want jurors to watch a YouTube video starring alleged WikiLeaks source Bradley Manning that earned the young soldier special training about keeping military secrets ...
But nearly two years before his arrest, he got into trouble for making an Internet video telling his family about his upcoming deployment to Iraq. In the June 2008 video, he called his duties "secret" and "top secret."
While the private first class never faced charges over video, he had to take "corrective training" to teach him the dangers of spilling classified information.
"The accused certainly had it burned into his memory," prosecutor Capt. Angel Overgaard said, referring to the training. "Individuals tend to learn from their mistakes best." ...

(118,282 posts)... Manning's punishment for the YouTube video included having to present a power point presentation in which he explained what amounted to classified information and what would constitute a security breach.
The military says the information proves that Manning was fully aware of the consequences when he released a huge cache of diplomatic cables and military logs to WikiLeaks. His defence has denied the soldier knowingly aided the enemy ...

But the presiding judge, Col. Denise Lind, revealed in a pretrial hearing Wednesday that the first act involved Manning creating a YouTube video to tell his family that he was about to go on a mission he called "secret" and "top secret" ...
Lind ruled Thursday that the prosecutors could play the video at trial if they show it is relevant to their allegations. No information has been revealed about "Act 2" or "Act 3," but one of them is inadmissible, Lind ruled ...

(20,634 posts)There is little support for our military misadventures.
Maybe you should quit serving the interests of corrupt idiots and spend your time doing something that might actually be useful to humanity. Cleaning toilets or picking up trash from the side of the highway would be more noble than the daily pro-empire cut and pastes.
