Have you been tested for adenovirus-36, or discussed it with your doctor?

While I posted research linking adenovirus-36 as a cause of possibly 20% of obesity, I never thought to ask your experiences.

Have any of you been tested for antibodies to adenovirus-36?

Any discussions with your doctors and nurses?

Research is showing a higher occurrence among those tested who are morbidly obese. I know a number of DUers have discussed having surgery to lose weight, others now considering that route. Was the adenovirus-36 discussed during pre-surgery counseling?

I am most interested in seeing if the medical community is considering this as a possibility.

After thirty years of research, they discover the answer to the big question. "How can a brief viral infection still cause obesity many years later?"

If I were considering surgery, I would get tested and if infected would delay my surgery. Then become the best friend of the researchers.

I need to catch up on several months of unread cell biology journals

Here's a couple of useful links.
