McConnell has taken up calling Russian interference in our elections as a "Hoax."
McConnell is either being blackmailed or bribed.
Criminals are in charge of this country.

(2,921 posts)And the polls, as I predicted, appear to show Biden surging in every state. Regardless of how much I like Kamala she should not have attacked a friend the way she did. We are all going to drown in Moscow Mitch shit if we think that fighting an old race war is going to win us anything. Donny Deutch was also spot on. When they go low, we have to get out the nukes and blow them out of their sewers. I'm terrified of the prospect of Trump winning with Russian interference and foreign money again, and we have to instill fear in those that might support the GOP or be interested in fighting a race war of exactly how fuct up that will leave us all.

(58,785 posts)particularly to American energy leaders and for the last 30 years Chinese businessmen. So bribed is a way of life for him, though power is his payoff, personal wealth something that eventually mostly came through marrying the daughter of one of the Chinese billionaires he does work for. Haven't checked lately, but the last total from Russians I saw was roughly $1M funneled through his PAC, which he uses to grow power.
He hasn't exhibited the strange but now-common personality and behavior changes among Republicans in power that make people wonder at blackmail as almost the only explanation that would make sense. He's always been very dirty but characteristically very careful, and today's committed alliance with the very wealthy and powerful to betray his nation and its people, seems entirely consistent.

(58,785 posts)the Koch sons may not be true "libertarians." A way of laundering inherited fascistic tendencies (my words, not theirs) through an ideology that dresses up callous greed with a frosting of specially-designed morality that potentially excuses almost all behaviors as exercises of the ultimate morality, "personal freedom."

(58,785 posts)shareholder of a seized company that did business with companies that helped build the Third Reich and on the board of directors of that or another. (Your linked article is for conservative women unhappy in college. Bless their hearts.) Does the one you meant to link show that family holdings included ownership of an American company(s) doing business in Germany? That they refused to close down or bring home? I vaguely remember allegations but not details.
Business involvement in Germany after the Nazis seized the national government (massive election crimes, including violence, typical of fascists) ranged anywhere from unwilling and unintended to enthusiastic, full-blown support. No excuses for those who continued to enable Germany's invasions and concentration camps, which began virtually immediately, of course.

(17,988 posts)So many do not remember the past of so many huge fortunes.
I may have this post deleted but the Kennedy fortune was built on bootlegging.
Rockefeller was chased all over the Country when Teddy Roosevelt broke up the big companies.
The Trump fortune started on Prostitutes and Donald, his Father, Fred followed right along, cheating workers, forming Ponzi schemes.
Now, we have MOSCOW MITCH, his wife Elaine benefiting from drugs and out right corruption

(58,785 posts)The greed of these people is astonishing.
Interestingly, though Moscow Mitch undoubtedly started feeling poor among all those centimillionaires and billionaires in DC before he married a woman who could legally contribute virtually unlimited money to his lifestyle, for most of his life he's not been particularly interested in money. Power's his passion, and he's allied to get more and more with the biggest powers in this nation and others. Aside from the American electorate he now has to keep from destroying him.

(5,106 posts)He's way smarter and savvy as to the ways of government and how to pervert them. He BRAGS about his ability to pervert normal government functions any time Democrats are involved. No worries about hurting the American public anytime he can screw over a Democrat. He's made it very clear that his priority is thwarting Dems. I lived in eastern Kentucky for some years prior to Mitch (who's far from a native son). The friends with whom I keep in touch say his"goodies" provided keep most Kentuckians voting for him.

(187 posts)I emailed my Representative yesterday about impeaching trump and protecting our elections. I did use the term Moscow Mitch. I told her my ancestors didn't fight in George Washington's Army in the Revolutionary War for Russia. My grandfather didn't fight in the US Navy in WW1 for Russia. My dad didn't fight in the US Army in WW2 for Russia. My husband didn't fight in the US Marines in the Vietnam War for Russia. Why are all these Republicans fighting for Russia? I wrote that Moscow Mitch brought the vote to drop the sanctions on the Russians for election interference that set a Senate vote speed record.
