(629 posts)This whole Pelosi/AOC thing is nothing but a distraction. I hate when I see the media trying to make this a story. We need to focus on getting the Traitor out of the White House, not if there is a "Feud" between Pelosi & AOC.

(11,744 posts)Pelosi and AOC represent generational and ideological divides within the Democratic party. If they are fighting and fractured, it makes the Party look weak and unable to carry out the needs of the constituency. Giving the talk and seeming reconciliation or at least the repairing of the relationship enables the Democrats to focus on other things.
Yes we do need to get Trump out, but we need to be unified to do so. Having meetings to mend fences goes toward that end.

(498 posts)What I think is interesting and important here, that nobody else seems to mention or think about is this: AOC is a newbie. Yet Pelosi feels she needs to have them look good for the cameras. AOC suddenly has *power* If she were unimportant and had no power, then Pelosi would not have done this.
That's what is crazy and interesting. AOC went from being this newbie to having a bit of pull. I'm very glad about that.
With any luck maybe they'll head toward being allies and Pelosi will mentor AOC.
(and yes I hate using "aoc" but I am not typing all that out every time
