.

Watch this video and tell me that this guy isn't placing his job above all else.

He thinks we can get all these projects done with the Republicans, when all of those bills die at the feet of McConnell.

He thinks that the reason why the Republicans don't work with Democrats is because Dems are attacking Trump!

(I'm probably going to get flagged for not standing up for Dems, which is BS, but I have to say what's on my mind!)

A 2/3 majority is needed in the House to impeach and in the Senate to convict. It won’t happen in either. If that’s all the support there is for impeachment, we should quit going down this rabbit hole. There’s a ton of evidence from Mueller’s report and testimony and from all the other congressional investigations. If the majority of the American people and the Congress isn’t willing to act on that, it might be best to focus on elections. Trump has suffered very little from all of these inquiries so far. Continuing to investigate and “talk impeachment”without any real consequences will only backfire on Dems in the end.

Wiki: the House of Representatives must pass, by a simple majority of those present and voting, articles of impeachment, which constitute the formal allegation or allegations. Upon passage, the defendant has been "impeached".

the Senate tries the accused. In the case of the impeachment of a president, the Chief Justice of the United States presides over the proceedings. For the impeachment of any other official, the Constitution is silent on who shall preside, suggesting that this role falls to the Senate's usual presiding officer, the President of the Senate who is also the Vice President of the United States. Conviction in the Senate requires a two-thirds vote. The result of conviction is removal from office.

It still won’t happen. Conviction in the Senate certainly will not. I still think is a danger to keep the talk alive in the face of that unlikelihood. I’m not sure impeachment without a conviction would be beneficial for Dems.

Not impeaching means banking on the 2020 vote. Many will not like that, and I think most right thinking folks will assume, if no impeachment, that the stuff about T was much ado about nothing.

Instead, it's a lot to do about everything. My hunch is that most right-thinking Americans would assume that if the D's don't pursue impeachment, that there was nothing there.

There is everything there. I, for one, am not willing to let the 2020 election serve as surrogate as to do what's right: investigate and, if warranted, impeach.

It doesn't matter what the Senate does. It matters whether the D's have the gumption to take the Trump nonsense head-on.

These issues go to the heart of our democracy. There is NO other choice.

and it still hasn’t convinced a majority of the Congress nor the American people that impeachment is in order. If, despite all the evidence that is there, impeachment fails after this inquiry, Dems are in trouble. If, despite all the evidence that is there, Dems don’t win in 2020, the country is doomed.

Pelosi is not going to allow a vote on the floor until she knows it would pass. And i don't blame her.

What they need to do in the meantime is talk about all the legislation they passed that McConnell refuses to allow the Senate to vote on. AND they need to talk about the faltering economy, how badly Trump's tariffs are hurting more than just farmers, how his tax cuts did little for the economy but ballooned the deficit, how the GOP and Trump are so focused on hurting immigrants and asylum seekers THAT THEY ARE THE ONES NEGLECTING THE BUSINESS OF THE PEOPLE.. They need to focus more on what they are doing for their constituents. But while they are back home holding town hall meetings they need to champion the Mueller report findings and how Barr has worked to thwart investigation by Congress. Talk about the many lawless acts by Trump, his administration and other GOP.
