GOP calls for broader gun rights, unlimited clips

http://news.yahoo.com/gop-calls-broader-gun-rights-unlimited-clips-141639125--election.html

"TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Republicans have strengthened the pro-gun-rights portion of their party platform, including a new call for unlimited bullet capacities in guns, in a defiant response to criticism that followed recent mass shootings at a Colorado cinema and an Arizona congresswoman's gathering.
The 2012 platform, approved this week by GOP convention-goers who nominated Mitt Romney for president, also endorses "stand your ground" rights for gun owners. That legal concept, which says gun bearers don't have to retreat if they feel threatened in a public place, drew national attention after February's fatal shooting of an unarmed Florida teenager by a neighborhood watch volunteer.
Republicans traditionally embrace gun rights in their quadrennial party platforms. The one approved this week went farther than those of 2004 and 2008.
Gun control advocates see it as an audacious answer to calls for firearms restrictions after a gunman killed 12 people in Colorado last month, and another gunman killed six people in Tucson, Ariz., early last year. Gabrielle Giffords, then a Democratic congresswoman holding an outdoor meeting, was gravely wounded in the Tucson assault."

including nine children, across from an elementary school today in L.A.
I think we should call for stricter laws on cars. and also this was a caddy so I know it had 8 cylinders I bet this would not have happened if the car only had 4 cylinders.

Gun=designed with the primary purpose of killing, injuring or threatening/simulating killing or injuring

Car=Designed with the primary purpose of getting a person from one place to another.

The purpose of a car is to get you from point A to point B. The purpose of a gun is to put holes in things. If you don't understand the difference, then you need to ride your gun to the nearest mental health clinic and seek help.

I have zero problems with additional and more restrictive laws re: automobiles.

With four cylinders rather than eight, the impact area of the car would be reduced, hence reducing the potential amount of victims.

This plank of the platform came about after polling of gun-relgionists revealed their deep and ever-present fear of venturing outside - even once - without enough firepower to take care of all the imagined 'thugs' (wink wink) they fantasize about 24x7.

and we want that again...

Oh wait, they did did not... in fact the laws that they had to CONTROL guns in places like Dodge City, would make you blush

And while at it, let's get rid of ALL gun laws... that way we all can carry a LAWS rocket, because we all know the mentally insane, and people who have committed a felony also need precious. But hey, if everybody carries, we will no longer have any crime.

Yup, that is the logic we are dealing with.

Go hug precious, we all know you possibly cannot handle the day without it.

And the GOP is even out of step for MOST NRA members, but you knew that.

Has ever been used in a mass murder.

Unless you meant semi-automatic. Which are what 90% of the guns sold today are.

I am right-handed but have a lazy right eye - Amblyopia. I can't aim with that eye, so I have to shoot long guns left-handed. That's impractical with most bolt action rifles, which are designed to be aimed and fired right-handed.

I discovered that AR-15 type rifles can be configured for excellent accuracy, so that's what I use when I shoot small bore rifle. For large bore, I use an M1 Garand which also works perfectly well left-handed.
