Let's pretend that it is normal for the President of the United States to attack Congressmen and individual citizens with racial taunts.
Let's pretend it is normal for a President to try and divide the country, rather than unite it.
Let's pretend it is normal for a political Party to excuse these racist comments.
Let's pretend that we can overlook all these disgusting comments and actions because the economy is doing good. Let's pretend the economy is doing much better than it actually is.
Let's pretend that obstruction of justice is no worse than a traffic ticket on the way to church.
Let's pretend that we can excuse crimes and outright racism by saying "that is just the way he is". Let's pretend that he is just "fighting back" - even when there are criminal charges against him.
It is easy to pretend that uncomfortable and unacceptable actions are not really that bad if we say it is "just politics".
Let's pretend that it is no big deal if Russia determines who the next President of the United States might be?
Let's pretend that it is OK for a President to make as much money as he wants while he is in office. After all, he is an international "businessman".
Let's pretend that the laws and the Constitution of this country don't really matter. The important thing is to remain in power.
Let's pretend there will be no consequences for smaller crimes like bribery or perjury.
Let's pretend that the American people are stupid and will believe anything we tell them.
What have we got to lose?
