Joe Scarborough to Chris Matthews : "the truth shall get you banned".

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinksi weren't happy with the way Matthews disrupted the clubby atmosphere they like to maintain on the "Morning Joe" set.

Scarborough was especially displeased. During a luncheon at the Poynter Institute in Tampa after that show, Scarborough laid down the law for Matthews' continued appearances on his show:

Scarborough said he was upset that “Morning Joe” “wasted five minutes of the audience’s time” during Matthews’ outburst by doing “absolutely nothing to illuminate the conversation.”
“We love Chris, Chris loves us, Chris comes on the show all the time, and we want him back again,” Scarborough said. Nevertheless, he doesn’t support political outbursts like Matthews’.

“If people come on our show and do that, they’re not going to come back on our show until we’re certain they’re not going to do it,” Scarborough said. “The problem is, that people who do that, whether it’s on cable TV or online … they are rewarded by either the extremists on the far right or the far left.”

A lot of times I believe Matthews hurts the liberal cause more then he helps... he has a way of turning people off.

Whatever-- I'm sure he'd be just fine if the party tags had been reversed. What he didn't like was that Matthews made the GOP look very, very bad by describing their little dog whistle campaigns frankly.

and you're correct, he's just PISSED because Chris shone a light on the ugly GOP tactics.

I have been thinking that Scarborough would not want Tweety back on any time soon because he can't handle the truth. And when the truth is stated, Scarborough loses his opportunity of spin with that stupid grin.

I think its time to try and get him off the air. I know Chris Matthews has not been a hero to progressives. I was furious with how he was during the Bush campaign. But I agree with him much more than I disagree and would much rather see him with a morning show that the verbal diarrhea that comes from Morning Joe.

he went off on them, saying he had no interest in any of the abortion and gay marriage stuff and lamented how the party had been taken over.

The rest of the panel including Joe corrected him, saying that the GOP needed the evangelicals otherwise they'd lose, and then there was some weird vibe in the air and the guy ended up leaving the set. It was really odd, it was like the guy had violated some rule.

what'a u gonna' do about me. I tell you what I think and thats your show as you call it SUCKS bigtime. You joe should be investigated for the death of the young lady found in your office. Actually
If I came in for the day early enough I'd probably go back to watching Chris since he's got his fill of host such as yourself, joe. What'a think about that, joe. In the mean time go take a flying fuck at a rolling donut you POS. A man who will be a murderer in my eyes until he is properly investigated and then cleared other wise I see a murderer when I see Joe.

smear and smirk while on it. Joe wants important people to come on his show, but he doesn't want to get any value from having them there. So why have them? Access isn't important if the only reason you want it is to have access.

1. Bet if the "outburst" had come from the far-right Scarborough wouldn't have noticed.

2. Mathews isn't "far-left" by any reasonable measure so it is a mischaracterization on Scarborough's part.

NBC/MSNBC owns Joe and Chris. NBC/MSNBC tells Joe "Chris is going to be on your show!" Joe throws temper tantrum. NBC/MSNBC tells Joe either you include Chris or you get fired. Joe "invites" Chris back on his show.

I would think NBC/MSNBC has more leverage on who appears on THEIR shows. Joe NOT so much!

No one was watching this week, who could wake up every morning to the RNC. Chris probably gave them a slight boost.
