Two TSA agents were suspended after a noose was found at Miami International Airport, the agency said Tuesday.

Officials found the "offensive display" on the non-public side of the airport, and officers immediately reported it to TSA management, the agency said in a statement.

"The display was immediately removed and an investigation was launched into who was responsible for the unacceptable behavior," the statement said.

The TSA did not identify what the display was, but multiplelocal reports said that a noose had been found on display in the baggage screening area.

Two TSA officers, whose identities weren't released, were placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues.

I just saw the display on Local 10 news - two toy gorillas with a noose on a pole.
Clearly the US doesn't want our tourist dollars. This is fucking madness

"TSA does not tolerate racist or offensive behavior and those found responsible will be held accountable for their actions," the statement said.

The TSA didn't identify what was found in the private portion of the screening area, but CNN released a photograph of the display in question -- two stuffed gorillas tied together and hanging by a noose.

A TSA employee with knowledge of the situation told CNN the display was hanging from a "pole right in the center of the TSA workstation located underneath the airport where passengers' checked luggage is screened before being placed on aircraft."

Other TSA officers reported it to management, who removed it.

"It is a government agency. You would think that our government would train our agencies a little better than that," one traveler at MIA, Sunil Abraham, told Local 10's Roy Ramos.
