The House Is Already Losing at Least 11 Republicans--And That Number Could RiseThere are now a total of eight Republicans who are retiring in 2020, including Rep. Susan Brooks of Indiana and Rep. Rob Woodall of Georgia. Rep. Tom Marino also resigned from his post in January—just two weeks after being sworn in. (He was replaced by another Republican in a special election, Rep. Fred Keller.) https://fortune.com/2019/07/30/house-republican-departures-retirements It seems we Dems are in good shape to keep the House -- but that does not mean we sit back and do nothing to make sure. What I find of great interest is how few Republican House members are female compared to the Democrats. I am hopeful about the Senate -- but have my doubts as to the Dems taking it. I am working my azz off to get a Dem in the WH. I would not like the Repubies having the Senate, but could live with it we we keep the House and take the WH.

3. Need to get some solid candidates to run against the Republicans
while the districts may be RED, making the Republicans work to hold the seat means fewer resources elsewhere.

4. Good point.
I know little about the Red districts that are losing their current reps. Being is SoCal in a solid Dem area -- Reps in this area are Waters and Lieu -- I am hoping that those on the DU who are in or near these districts will alert us to do what we can to help and to donate if possible.

5. Yep
Also, with a credible candidate to run against a non-incumbent, there's the possibility of picking up an allegedly safe Republican seat. District demographics change from election to election, and I'd be willing to bet that some lukewarm Republican voters may have cooled a bit since the beginning of the year as they observe Republican fecklessness and inability to govern.

6. IMO, the racist rants w/o Repuke admonition is not helping Trump
in any district. Not only the demographic changes, but the ugliness which stay with Trump like stink on shit.

11. I agree
It's a bit confounding to me that the media aren't doing a better job of checking into voters who are turned off by Trump's racist rantings. They're certainly getting the opinions of people who are proudly waving their racist flags, assuring them that they aren't alone in their bigotry. But finding voters who have soured on Trump because of his outspoken prejudice doesn't seem to be a priority for the bulldogs of the Fourth Estate.

9. Now they can all go and write books like Ryan did
about how they tried to keep the fake prez from harming our country and should be considered heroes by all.

10. Good point.
Looks like the receding bunch o' Repukes did not have the balls or ovaries to do anything while in office, but suddenly found their vocal cords (and books for profit) after leaving office. Gag me...

13. Wish we could get some
"decent" republicans to run in those districts that are too red for -any- Dem.
Otherwise we'll get trumpers which could be more racist and more anti-immigrant than the ones retiring. |

14. Some districts are scary.
They are so solid Trump that I am afraid to go near them.
