(16,844 posts)We're having our state elections this year and Jim Hood, the Democratic candidate for governor, has a good chance. I hope the state will take that money and expand Medicaid here. It is sorely needed.

(1,278 posts)then again, I live in the "Great State of Mecklenburg", which is a derisive term coming from most of the other 99 counties. Also, I must admit, outside of Governor Cooper, I couldn't tell you who is a politician outside of Charlotte. I should be more involved, but do support Dems at all levels.
This could be Gov. Roy Cooper's successor. And this would be #awesomesauce!

(1,278 posts)I didn't know he lived in Plaza-Midwood. I live just above Smith, and he is my state senator. Also, Becky Carney is my state rep. If I moved 1 street over, I would be in another district altogether.
