Trump claims China "is paying us tens of billions of dollars" due to his tariffs

US President Donald Trump defended Saturday his hardline trade policy against China, arguing that the tariffs he imposed are bringing in “billions” from the Beijing government.
“Things are going along very well with China. They are paying us Tens of Billions of Dollars.”

Trump often argues that tariffs imposed on Chinese goods are paid by China when in fact they are being paid by US consumers who buy those goods.

Trump also said that other countries (fearful of being punished with US levies like China is) are clamoring to reach trade deals with the United States. “Countries are coming to us begging to negotiate trade deals. They don’t want to be targeted for tariffs by the US,”
Trump tweeted without saying which countries want such accords.

On Thursday Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on another $300 billion in Chinese goods in September. The threat jolted global stock markets. The new plan means virtually all of the $660 billion in annual trade between the world’s two biggest economies will have tariffs on it
(paid by US consumers who buy those goods).

Kudlow’s admission about who pays tariffs contradicts Trump
By CHRISTOPHER RUGABER May 13, 2019

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House’s top economic adviser has acknowledged that U.S. consumers and businesses pay the tariffs that the Trump administration has imposed on billions of dollars of Chinese goods, even as President Trump himself insisted in a tweet, incorrectly, that China pays.

Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” asked him, “It’s U.S. businesses and U.S. consumers who pay, correct?”

“Yes, I don’t disagree with that,” said Larry Kudlow, the head of the president’s National Economic Council.

increasing daily. Two weeks ago started the push to supply US Retailers with Holiday Sales Inventory. Appears that surge is about to fizzle out as per Freight Wire numbers. Noticed last week the Long Longshoreman posted notice as to Layoffs in the West Coast Ports due to lack of Container Ships Docking.

Not a good sign for the consumer. As far as Railroad west bound loaded Containers, lot's of empties, which is understandable . We have nothing saleable to the Pacific Basin with all the reverse tariff's.

He is such a fucking disaster. The man is too stupid to run a lemonade stand, he has no business running a country and making catastrophic decisions that will harm our economy and our standing in the world. Even most republicans have to understand this.
