of socialism and the labor movement/s, but what I'm learning is fascinating. They have socialism beat down now worse than ever. If you even bring it up, people think you're crazy. It wasn't so crazy in the past, in fact it's why we had what social reforms still exist.

They call Teddy Roosevelt a liberal sometimes now. He was right up front about why he went along with some social reforms. It was to give a little to pacify the socialists and keep capitalism safe. They systematically give us just enough to keep a middle class buffer between the wealthy and poor.

I saw a FB post criticizing people unhappy about the wealth distribution because we have a relatively higher standard of living that people in the past or those living in poor countries today. So if you have a refrigerator, indoor plumbing and a/c, you should feel fortunate, even if you're a paycheck away from being homeless. Bullshit! It's always been about how much of what there is the people at the top suck up.

Compare 1819 with 2019 and everyone has a higher standard of living. So some kind of drivable car, a cell phone and enough to eat, is maybe an acceptable bottom. I think we can and should demand much more.

Billions of dollars going to farmers, and the most goes to the corporate farmers, of course.

All because trump wants to keep putting tariffs on China, which in turn hurts the American consumers, not China.
