Regarding any potential criminal and/or civil charges against Trump -

Given Trump's frequent use of hate language on twitter, at rallies, comments to the press, etc., is there any chance that he could actually face criminal and/or civil charges once he is shoved out of office?

What I am thinking about, post El Paso and Ohio shootings is that one might make an arguement that he is guilty of criminal negligence as his willful and wanton conduct shows a reckless disregard for the safety of other. Rational people know that, if you encourage others to violence that there is a good chance that one or more individuals could be injured or killed.

The Feds won't go after him while he is in office, but what about state authorities? Even if they won't bring charges now, the odds are that any statute of limitations would not run out before he leaves office (even if he steals the 2020 election).

Even if criminal charges are not ever brought against him for his hate speech, could there be a valid chance of a civil case being filed against him? Given the increasing number of hate crimes, could there be a chance of a class action civil lawsuit filed against him?

It would be interesting if a class action lawsuit could be filed against him prior to the 2020 election. It would be nice to see him drained of all of any money that he has.

can face civil lawsuits for actions he committed before he became president. It wasn't at the level of his hateful rhetoric today, but he has been denigating Mexicans since he rode down the elevator at Trump Tower. That could, perhaps, serve as a basis for a civil lawsuit.

So yes, Trump could get away with most of his crimes if he is re-elected.

No statute of limitations for civil penalties, however, including tax evasion penalties in NYC.

Here's hoping they seize Trump tower and turn it into a homeless shelter, and Turn Mar-a-Lago into a refugee settlement center...

emboldened by Trump that would amount to violent acts linked to Trump's hate speech.
