2. Yes, it is exploitative expression (although clearly first responders DO deserve thanks/recognition)

None of those who witness this kind of carnage--either in a US mass shooting or in war, will ever be the same. Yet they do their jobs.

by standers who jump in too administer First Aide even though they have zero formal training.

So rare that these folks ever get recognition. But,the Politician sure loves the flashy Uniform in his photo op.

those in uniform who respond, whether they be firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, or LEO.

Criticize the politicians, not those who actually HELP.

I have never denigrated a Police officer or any Emergency Responder. Was a Volunteer Fireman in my Village for five years,been there and seen that. It was the thoughtful actions of bystanders whom did their best to administer first aide that saved several lives in those five years.

getting and keeping law enforcement on their side. The GOP fosters a strong alliance both with law enforcement and the military (not to mention 2nd Amendmenters and the Alt-Right) — all the better to maintain a stranglehold on governance aka power.

The Dayton Policeman met the mass murderer head on and stopped him in less than 1 minute. .Saved a 100 lives....
