Before yesterday, I had not heard of 8chan. THEY'RE BAAACK!

Yesterday, I discovered that 88 is a white supremacist numerical code for "Heil Hitler." H is the eighth letter of the alphabet, so 88 = HH = Heil Hitler.

I even visited 8chan, where the number they selected is no coincidence, and found a copy of this image:

To avoid using any content from 8chan, this image was found at a website that calls Trump followers a "creepy cult."

Sporadic Outages at 8chan and a New Host After Mass Shooting

BOSTON (AP) — The online message board 8chan suffered sporadic outages Monday after its cybersecurity provider cut it off for what it called a "cesspool of hate" following mass shootings in Texas and Ohio.

But the board, which has a history of use by violent extremists, also quickly found a new online host. That company also provides such support for Gab.com, another social media site frequented by white supremacists that doesn't ban hate speech.

The operators of 8chan said there might be downtime in the next one or two days as the site sought a solution, and online records indicated the site had been moved to a new domain host: Sammamish, Washington-based web services provider Epik.com. https://www.usnews.com/news/business/articles/2019-08-05/security-cut-off-for-cesspool-of-hate-8chan-forum

Who inspires disturbed, racist, antisemitic, homophobic Neo-Nazis and other Trump followers to engage in acts of violence, including mass-murder?

A look back at Trump comments perceived by some as encouraging violence
By MEGHAN KENEALLY

President Donald Trump on Thursday praised a congressman’s past assault on a reporter, making it the latest example where he appears to encourage or support violence.

In the latest instance, Trump referenced Rep. Greg Gianforte’s 2017 attack on a reporter by saying that “any guy who can do a body slam, he is my type!”

In Trump's own words "Even in elementary school, I was a very assertive, aggressive kid," Trump wrote in the bestseller. "In the second grade I actually gave a teacher a black eye — I punched my music teacher because I didn't think he knew anything about music and I almost got expelled.

In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on the day of the Iowa caucuses, for instance, he told audience members he would pay their legal fees if they engaged in violence against protesters.

At a Las Vegas rally later that month, he said security guards were too gentle with a protester. "He's walking out with big high-fives, smiling, laughing," Trump said. "I'd like to punch him in the face, I'll tell you."

A similar situation unfolded at a rally that month in Warren, Michigan.

"Get him out," he said of a protester. "Try not to hurt him. If you do, I'll defend you in court. Don't worry about it."

"Please don't be too nice" to suspects, Trump tells police
Trump seemed to encourage police to be more violent in handling potential offenders during a speech to law enforcement officers in July 2017.

On July 2, 2017, Trump shared the doctored video, from a 2007 WWE skit in which he is seen taking down WWE owner Vince McMahon. In the version Trump shared, McMahon's face is blocked by the CNN logo. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/back-trump-comments-perceived-encouraging-violence/story?id=48415766

Yesterday, on an Opening Post, considered a conspiracy theory by some, a criticized member of D.U. claimed that flags would be at full-staff on 8/8/19. I learned what 88 meant at the O.P. and investigated further. Would it be a coincidence, if 8chan was flying in full gory, glory on 8/8/19, while Old Glory was still at half-staff? Someone in the Trump crime syndicate could pull a few strings and make it a reality.

The numbers are powers of 2, which makes sense to the computer geeks who tend to hang out on chan sites.

8chan and 4chan are not primarily neo-Nazi sites. There are lots of people there who hang out discussing things like movies and anime and posting porn pics. Their culture is to be anonymous and edgy and ironic and unmoderated. As a result, the younger parts of the white nationalist crowd hang out there.

As a result, young Neo-Nazis and easily mislead teens - who hate the world - hang out there.

instead you wrote:

Do you think Trump and the R.N.C. are paying people to comment at DU?

The 65 year old Aryan Nations guys aren't hanging out on the chan sites. The twenty- and thirty-something Richard Spencer types are. And yes, they can sometimes use the sites to recruit and radicalize, but generally, it's self-limiting because only white nationalist types seek out the political boards on those sites to begin with. The /pol/ crowd is considered a grotesque joke by the non-political boards there.

As to your other question, the only person posting objectively incorrect agent provacateur stuff on this thread is you.

And then Chump will blame Russia.

Hey, did everyone hear that Teflon Don double-crossed an ex-KGB agent (as if anyone ever actually retires from professional spying) by promising to build a Trump resort in Moscow, apparently with a double-headed eagle insignia on its top. Then, the idiot promised to buy concrete, form a Canadian importer of Russian products, to build his absurd wall.

In other truths: He thinks that every FBI agent on Earth fears him! LOL, How many FBI agents did it take to destroy CIA Director David Petraeus? Uhhh, only one! hehehe

Is it safe to double-cross professional killers, who retired from the CIA, KGB, MI6, the Mossad, etc?
