Holy crap. Anyone see Tim Ryan going after Moscow Mitch just now on CNN?

Last edited Wed Aug 7, 2019, 11:55 AM - Edit history (2)

It was a righteous rant and he said they are planning a caravan of disgusted citizens to go visit Mitch in Louisville if he doesn't "get off his ass" and call the Senate back to enact meaningful gun control legislation.

Edited to add link.

I grew up close to his district. If it's anything like my old hood it' borderline crazy.

I respect Ryan and can see a big future for him in Ohio politics, even from far away California.

the originally planned Poor Peoples' Campaign from '68 was intended in part to camp out in D.C., peacefully protest and effectively force the leadership to shut down until meaningful legal changes were made.

MoscowMitch should have a caravan of peaceful protestors shadowing him where ever he goes.

and don't stop because that energy and even anger is all we have and it will drive voter perceptions and it will unseat a lot of Republicans.

2020 is shaping up most like 1980. Remember gas lines and 10% inflation and Iran hostages? Voters were angry. You don't get change without anger. Well, America is angry, and it's not just the far right.

History and logic and science and righteous anger are on our side.

Tim Ryan understands.

From before the first question is asked, Tim Ryan looks eager to answer, and can't quite believe the question gives him free reign! It's right in his wheelhouse.

McConnell, he says, has "no guts" and lacks "cajones"!!! LOL INCREDIBLE!!! GLORIOUS!!!

The primary thing that keeps me from getting behind him for the Primary is that he sometimes attacks more liberal Democrats with Republican TP's.

Start taking it DIRECTLY to Mass-Murder Mitch. Don’t give him any peace. Follow him when he tries to hide. Every republi-CON should suffer that fate - being hounded. And hopefully VOTED OUT OF OFFICE. No rest for the wicked. Be there peacefully protesting. Getting in his way, so he can’t avoid them. Stand vigil for the murdered. And elevate THEIR names, not his.

Republicans are on script, mumbling with Mitch, not looking at the cameras to defend the indefensible, but Democrats need no script, they can feel their message. We have grabbed emotion, we have our issue. This is a SEA CHANGE, we can trample these bastards and all they can do is compromise here or there and they won't even do that. Trump cannot defend them, Mitch has no words. They are cooked like a Thanksgiving Turkey.

in awhile in which I actually started feeling optimistic about our chances next year. Like maybe, just maybe, we might get this done. Dems are fires up. Latinos won’t forget, especially if they’re registered to vote. And the motivation factor has been driven farther up.

And yes it could be wishful thinking. But the way this may strengthen and solidify Democratic voters determination, it may be just the vitamin post we need.

The way we win - imo, the only way to win next year with everything we’re up against is to OVERWHELM the voting turnout. The Russians and other meddlers are counting on a close vote, because then it’s easier to mess with the numbers and eke out a win. All they had to do last time was get a relatively tiny majority in a few select and targeted areas to push the state numbers over the finish line to grab the Electoral College votes for that state.

The operative theory has always been to get close enough that they can then cheat it over the edge. But if the margins are too big, then that strategy doesn’t work. And isn’t easy to fudge. If our turnout is much bigger than what they can fuck with, then our win is secured.

The catch is, what’s needed are highly motivated voters in large numbers. This kind of tragedy can do that. In the name of all those innocent victims.

...it's CNN, and the only ones that see his anger and rage are you and me. The dRumpsters and the rest of the American sleeping public don't watch or don't care. Don't mean to put water on the fire, but I am getting so frustrated and upset with how this nation of politicians and media play with our safety and security. Would this guy be on Sunday morning talk shows?...probably not, and certainly not given the opportunity to call out these bastards.

It's like "gun control". They are now "willing to discuss background checks". Big fook'n deal! Ban assault weapons, period. Repeal or revise the 2nd Amendment to reflect today's weapons on the market. I can't believe how we simply stick our heads in the sand. I'm so g'damned tired of hearing "they won't do anything in Congress", and this piece of rotten shit in the White House couldn't care less. I don't even believe the NRA has their nuts any longer. They are broke and struggling themselves. These worthless, coward politicians are simply singing the same old songs to appeal to their brain dead moron bases.
