W T F? This was going to be a movie??? dear gawd!!

Movie execs reportedly pulled ads for a horror film where US elites hunt 'deplorables' for sport after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton

Movie executives have reportedly pulled ads for a new horror film about liberal elites hunting "deplorables" for sport, apparently in response to the two mass shootings that roiled the US over the weekend.

...

"The Hunt," due for release on September 27, focuses on a remote woodland mansion where US elites come in secret to hunt humans for sport.

In the movie, the victims of the hunting and kidnapping are described as "deplorables" — a label adopted by some supporters of President Donald Trump after Hillary Clinton used the term during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The plot revolves around a "deplorable" who turns the tables on the elites.

They should not release this move.

Those purge movies are also awful and scary.

I remember stories like that from decades ago. Yeah, the timing is stupid bad, but they'll just release it later.

Perfect recipe to stir up controversy and free advertising.

This is an old tactic - make a low budget movie about something controversial and let the media and outrage be your advertising

book about rich people hunting humans? Past Tense was the title I believe. The people targeted were not deplorables.

Betty Gilpin.

from the article:

"Employees in different departments were questioning the wisdom of making such a movie in these times," an unnamed filmmaker who has worked with Universal told The Hollywood Reporter.

"In light of the horrific [recent shootings], is this not the most craven, irresponsible, dangerous exploitation?"

Ya think? Damn!

15. I suppose "the elites" are supposed to be Democrats?

You know, public school teachers, union reps, waitresses, social workers, trial lawyers, nurses...

When most people talk about "the elite", they mean the wealthy and powerful, like, you know, Jeffrey Epstein and Trump.

But the GOP-- full of elites, seriously-- seems to think it's "anyone smart," because let's face it, most smart people aren't in the GoP.

16. A propaganda film designed to foment rage against "liberals"

It should appeal to and validate the fear and anger of the white supremacists who marched in Charlottesville while shouting "We will not be replaced."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one scene in "The Hunt" shows elite liberal characters choosing their victims because they used a racial slur against black people on Twitter.

In the movie, the victims of the hunting and kidnapping are described as "deplorables" — a label adopted by some supporters of President Donald Trump after Hillary Clinton used the term during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Universal is trying to claim it is satire--but it has the elements of fascist propaganda about the rich liberal elites such as H Clinton and those like her who are anti-white people and pro-"minorities" and who are going to hunt down and kill or destroy the good white people who built America.

This is a film made to exploit for money the fears and anxieties of those who are already being exploited by the Limbaughs, the Rupert Murdochs, and the Donald Trumps--so now Universal adds itself to the list.

I think we have had enough of the propaganda and the murders.

"The Most Dangerous Game", also published as "The Hounds of Zaroff", is a short story by Richard Connell,[1] first published in Collier's on January 19, 1924.[2] The story features a big-game hunter from New York City who falls off a yacht and swims to what seems to be an abandoned and isolated island in the Caribbean, where he is hunted by a Russian aristocrat.[3] The story is inspired by the big-game hunting safaris in Africa and South America that were particularly fashionable among wealthy Americans in the 1920s.[4]

The story has been adapted numerous times, most notably as the 1932 RKO Pictures film The Most Dangerous Game, starring Joel McCrea and Leslie Banks,[5] and for a 1943 episode of the CBS Radio series Suspense, starring Orson Welles.[6] It has been called the "most popular short story ever written in English." Upon its publication, it won the O. Henry Award.[3]
