(62,444 posts)Has he ever been convicted of a felony or committed? No. So there is no reason why he would not be able to purchase a gun.

(25,242 posts)his talk at campaign rallies and his Tweets - shouldn't we notify authorities about him?

(62,444 posts)You seem to believe that a member of the general public can somehow disqualify someone from purchasing a gun. That is incorrect. Why Trump would be interested in buying a gun is an odd belief in the first place, given that he will be surrounded by people with guns for the rest of his life anyway.
There is nothing which would disqualify him from purchasing a gun, and there is nothing you can do to change that.

(13,582 posts)did, but that didn't work out so well.
Take an average income dude with the kind of background Trum has. At least one bankruptcy, sued for not paying a contractor, the equivalent of shit Trump has in his past. He'd never get a gaming license to even get an entry level job at a casino.

(18,633 posts)Reasons to be denied purchase-
Convicted of a felony
Convicted in any court of a crime which is punishable by a term of more than one year or a misdemeanor punishable by more than two years.
Indicted for a crime punishable by more than one year
A fugitive from justice
A user of illegal drugs or an addict
Involuntarily committed to a mental institution
An illegal alien
Dishonorably discharged from the armed forces
Renounced your U.S. citizenship
Subject to a restraining order for threatening a family member
Convicted of domestic violence
Under an indictment, but not convicted, of a crime carrying a possible year-long prison sentence
As an aside, if there was a prohibitive tax (as has been suggested) on firearms or ammunition, would that be a significant hindrance for a person like Trump?
