(11,949 posts)Had to go in one to buy an extra cooler when deer hunting went well and no other store in small town Louisiana had any.
I dont care much about video games or even that the sell hunting guns since they stopped selling the AR types.
What I do care about is them allowing armed customers in their stores. I hope the pressure to change that gets to them. But since so much of their business is in rube land I doubt it.
Just another reason to hate them. They are the largest beneficiary of SNAP benefits on the country. It allows them to pay their workers sub-living wages and more of it is spent in their store than anywhere else. Unconscionable!

This is someone else's idea that was posted here on DU that I thought was a great way to pressure Walmart in open carry states:
The next time you see a man in a Walmart with a gun, whether holstered or not, head for the front door and shout along the way, "Gun! Gun! Man with a gun!" Most likely outcome is an employee will hit the alarm and the store will be evacuated.
Legally, you would be correct in what you are saying (so, no this is NOT the same as falsely yelling "Fire" in a theater). And, given the current unsafe Walmart climate wherein every crazed gun nut out there knows the retail giant values profits over customer welfare and safety, it's completely understandable for you to fear for your life.
After maybe half a dozen such evacuations, Walmart might at least move to a no-carry position in stores.
