(81,238 posts)about him at some high-fallutin cocktail party where he kept flashing his bush/cheney campaign button that he had pinned to the inside of his jacket when in conversation with the GOP VIP guests there. And he TALKED about that, too!!! Chuckling as he did so, as I recall. What an outrage! Objective much, Tim???
Everybody in the news biz was so distraught over Russerts death. Everybody damn near renamed him Saint Tim. I did not share that sentiment.
If Id been running that news division I would have fired him.

About a year ago Phil went on a Told Ya So, tour.
Having watched Phil and Erma Bombeck from the time Phil was a WHIO newscaster i was pretty teed off.
Erma said the first time she saw Phil he was carrying a toilet seat under his arm. They were neighbors in Centerville.

(14,564 posts)He was always in the bag for republicans. Used to just gnash my teeth when people made him out to be some Bastion of Journalism. He do his interviews and just mercilessly Crank It Up on Democrats, then do semi-serious tepid interviews with Republicans. He was a POS, and somehow they've tried to replace him now with two complete sold out whore mental midget dingbatz in Gregory in this clown.

(7,447 posts)I'm not some huge fan, but this seems more about the collective dislike for Todd than what he was actually saying.
I listened, and heard that as him being shocked that this is where we were. He's made a myriad other comments that more or less conceded that Trump was a racist or at the very least racist-adjacent.
I haven't seen Todd doing a lot of defense of Trump on these grounds, or suggesting that he isn't a racist.
So, I think perhaps this is a bit of an overreaction.
