Trump is nuts and needs to be removed. Proof?. Accusing Clinton of being involved in murder. Did Trump really do that? Then that is the proof the country needs for impeachment.
Hard to believe?...here is a link from the Atlantic:

The Shame and Disgrace Will Linger
On Saturday, President Trump spread a conspiracy theory accusing the Clintons of murdering Jeffrey Epstein.
Of course, that never happened. Obviously. How could it, how dare it? But had it happened, such an accusationby a president, against a former presidentwould have convulsed the United States and the world. Today, President Trump accused his predecessor, Bill Clintonor possibly his 2016 campaign opponent, former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clintonof complicity in the death of the accused sex-trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein.
Many seem to have responded with a startled shrug. What do you expect? Its just Trump letting off steam on Twitter.
Reactions to actions by Trump are always filtered through the prism of the ever-more-widely accepted viewwithin his administration, within Congress, within the United States and around the worldthat the 45th president is a reckless buffoon, a conspiratorial racist moron, whose weird comments should be disregarded by sensible people.

The Republicans who control the Senate will not vote to remove Trump from office.
The most the House can do is hold hearings. Since the only purpose for that would be to hurt his chances of re-election, it's best to wait until closer to 2020.
The Republicans who control the Senate will not remove Trump from office.

(38,454 posts)but proof that this needs to be done is important. When the proof is out there, like this statement, more people will say, "Trump is nuts." The more the better. Down the road, that proof is important.

(2,571 posts)It is equivalent to an indictment.
The trial for removal or not happens in the Senate.

(9,426 posts)already awesome bank account. When the rest of the senate realizes that they are really helping Moscow Mitch, will they stay onboard? They are in danger of LOSING their jobs, and they have to be aware of that. To help Moscow Mitch? He is not worth it. Leningrad Lindsey must have a whole hell of a lot to lose if tRump loses. Leningrad Lindsey is foaming at the mouth, protecting tRump for some reason.

(7,437 posts)GOPers in the Senate still see McConnell as their only path to re-election. They'll cling to him like flies on shit because they, too, benefit from McConnell's love for Russian money.
As for Lindsey, a reasonable guess is that Trumpy has photos and film of Lindsey in an apron with the pool boy, and told Lindsey during one of their golf outings. That spurred a 180 degree turn for Lindsey, who is now so far up Trumpy's ass, he can taste the cheeseburgers.

(9,426 posts)politicians who think their position is safe are holding meet and greets with their constituents? Moscow Mitch thought he was safe for years, yet he is being harassed by the gun control supporters. Now he is in hiding, to avoid any questions. I think some of these people will be shocked when they do (if they do) met their voters. People are sick about all the mass shootings, and the inaction of the gop to curb it. Clearly, tRump is in decline, mentally. Whether it is Alzheimers, dementia or just the REAL tRump finally exposing himself as a racist s-o-b is in question. He is not, never was nor ever will be presidential quality. The Clintons need to sue him for defamation, this has gone on for too long.

(61,730 posts)I want Trump out of office. I want the Democrats to regain control of the Senate and retain control of the House. I don't want another Supreme Court justices like Gorsuch or Kavanaugh appointed in my lifetime.
I want the Democratic Party to use every strategy possible to maximize our chances of winning because our democracy depends on it. The world is literally at stake.

(2,571 posts)But it might not happen for all kinds of reasons. And it might happen for other reasons. Hell, the bloated oaf might have a massive heart infarction and keel over.
Impeachment has value in itself. Its not a purity test of Democrats, but it does mean they are doing their jobs. The investigation brings to light his crimes. If a trial happens in the Senate (unlikely, I know) it does the same. It's also a more legitimate way to reveal the information, rather than just having Democratic candidates rail against him endlessly.
As an added bonus, every revelation and impeachment charge drives him bonkers.

However, I believe now is a perfectly good time to start impeachment hearings. Given the multitude of his crimes and his obvious obstruction strategies, we could investigate him for years.

(1,824 posts)I disagree with you.
If we do not stand up to this tyrant, then what good are the laws of this country?
Let the Democrats stand up for what is right and good.
If the Republicans refuse to impeach Trump, they will be remembered for eternity that they allowed this scum to blot the reputation of the presidency and the US.
We allowed Nixon to resign, instead of being impeached and I firmly believe that this allowed a Trump presidency. If you know you and your actions will NOT be held accountable, then you know you can get away with anything.
Impeach Trump.

(9,090 posts)the cons and trump have - their talk radio messaging monopoly
as soon as americans start using artificial intelligence-enhanced transcription to digitize talk radio to any extent the radio advertising industry will have to anticipate stoprush x 100 and start asking clients if they really actually want to support trump, global warming denial, and racism before putting them on those stations.
true demand for that crap is minimal and the monopoly will fall apart. a lot of republicans know they'd lose without those stations helping them get elected. and any republicans ready to cross trump know limbaugh and sons will attack them if they do. seeing the blowhards on defense will embolden them.
and without all those talk radio stations covering for and providing material for trump he and his supporters would generally be a lot more vulnerable.

(38,454 posts)prove, that Trump has to be impeached. While the proof may not have easily been seen beforehand, now, with this awful tweet, the proof is there for everyone to see. Not only that, the proof is totally acceptable to all. Accusing Clinton of killing Epstein is absurd, crazy, ridiculous, and unprofessional. Grounds for impeachment.

(1,589 posts)red flag, in my mind at least, that he indeed may be complicit in the death of Epstein. His history of accusing others of what he himself is guilty of is well documented.
Stuart G
(38,454 posts)nothing could be proven about the death or the connection to Trump. But it would make an interesting show 50 years from now about "Trump the President who killed someone. "
....But I agree with others, it is very likely that Epstein killed himself. Still, Trump accusing someone of being involved, like he does in the original post, is really pretty stupid in my opinion.
Enoki33
(1,589 posts)is his opinion that based on what little we know there is something very wrong. He did not say it, only inferring, that suicide can be indirectly assisted for obvious reasons. Only when we get, if we ever do, the unvarnished facts will we really know. And yes, there will likely be no way to prove any connection to tRump.

(38,454 posts)In my opinion, using the office of the President of U.S.A. to accuse another President of murder, is grounds for impeachment. While impeachment will not come of this, it shows how deranged Trump is. If it were just "Trump" working in New York, Landlord and "celebrity" it would be one point of view.
...But this is the President of the U.S.A. accusing another President of the U.S.A. of complicity in the death of the accused sex-trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein.
It is not just outrageous and immoral, this is grounds for impeachment in my mind. Yes, it is a fine line for just mouthing off and grounds for impeachment, but in a way, Trump has crossed that line. More than one way.

(3,635 posts)Barr is a shameless Trump/GOP stooge who will do anything to prevent anything coming out that would threaten Trump/GOP election chances in 2020.
Barr refused to recuse himself from the Epstein case, keep that in mind.
Trump blaming the Clintons is their standard 'I know you are but what am I" projection deflection tactic.
Clintons had very little to do with Epstein, other than he was a rich guy who contributed to campaigns.
It was Trump as a private citizen who chose to socialize with Esptein knowing his reputation, engaging in the same type of parties, etc.
Add it all up, and Barr/Trump have the means and motive to make sure Epstein stayed quiet - forever.

(523 posts)Defamation is probably not an impeachable offense. If it were, there'd be a lot of vacant offices in federal and state governments.
While judges can be impeached for falling short of 'good behavior' (Art. III, sec.1), the President is not required to adhere to good behavior but can be removed only for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" (Art. II, sec.4). This is, apparently, not confined strictly to criminal offenses, but does suggest something more severe than mere lack of good behavior. (After all, this provision was written before the US had a criminal code.) Name-calling and defamation, while certainly bad behavior, don't seem quite evil or destructive enough to qualify for impeachment. There are plenty of instances of previous presidents not being impeached for it.
