How did the Democratic party maintain their humanity, while those of the Republican party clearly cast off theirs?

& more so when Andrew broke down. Thank God there are still leaders with a sense of empathy and sensibility. This gun culture has got to be curtailed. It cannot be allowed to continue defining who were are as Americans.
