I believe Trump's inflammatory twitters are for two reasons.

One, To create a distraction from some other BS that is going on That the Dotard and his minions don’t want the public to be thinking about.

Two, to embarrass and degrade the United States as much as possible using Twitter. To do whatever he can to destroy this country by hurting the country’s image in the eyes of the rest of the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody who is compos mentis is helping him with this part of it.

I hear about strategy this and that. He is trying to distract from this or that.

The reality is he is just f***ing moron with no strategy. He just belches out whatever he feels in the moment and his administrations job is to run cleanup operations. I get tired about hearing strategy. There is no strategy.

So the question is, why is an impulsive, no-strategy racist the public face of the Republican Party?

Just because Trump is an idiot doesn’t mean his actions aren’t part of a larger strategy. That’s one reason right wing devotees of Trump accept his actions—they think such a strategy is too complicated for Trump and therefore a fake idea.

So every time we proudly say Trump is too much of an imbecile to have a strategy, remember, that’s exactly the response from Americans that Trump’s handlers want to hear. Because once again, the focus is not on Trump’s handlers.

that Trump has put interim foxes into each hen house, so to speak - people who only answer to him, not to Congress.

It’s the job of Dem leaders to educate the people about what is going on - the dismantling of the government that is meant to protect us, our resources and our democracy - and to ask who stands to gain from this destruction. Loudly and clearly.

Speaker Pelosi has allowed the impeachment investigation terminology only to obtain court docs - she has certainly not alerted the public about the state of the gov’t itself. If she did, people would be alarmed, yes, but they should be alarmed - alarmed enough to demand that this traitor be removed from office.

Like this?

“In the White House, there is, among some people, a real disrespect for federal employees, animated by their disrespect for the government generally,” House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.), whose district includes part of Prince George’s County, said in a brief interview. “So if you’re hostile to government, you’re then . . . hostile to those who work in government.”

That's a new accusation.

Now how does Pelosi silence "impeachment investigation terminology?" Can you give us an example?

If she did, people would be alarmed, yes, but they should be alarmed - alarmed enough to demand that this traitor be removed from office.

I see alarm all over the place. Maybe you're not on social media, or don't read any newspapers, or listen to public radio.

People seem to be more informed than you think about the impossibility of "removing" him prior elections in 2020 (Barring a complete change of personality in either Pence and the cabinet, or Mitch McConnell). People don't need to "demand elections" - unless you think that Trump is planning on cancelling elections, and you're concerned that Pelosi will somehow "let him," if they don't demand that she doesn't

So, having having a basic understanding the total lack of any mechanism to do so, why do you think that people "demanding that be be removed" prior to elections 2020 be a good thing? That would indicate that they have unrealistic expectations, and congress has NOT effectively communicated to the public about how impeachment would not remove him. People are alarmed about the heat wave - would demanding that Pelosi "do something about it" have any value at all other than to people who want to see the public get angry at her?

He has not grand plan or well thought out strategy, he just makes it up as he goes along. BUT, his master skill is being able to manipulate the lesser spirits of the human soul.

His number one motive in ANYTHING he says or does is to keep "the base" (which was already brainwashed by decades of eagerly shoving in conservative media propaganda) tweaked out and completely distanced from reality. That is how he controls them, and uses them as a sledge hammer against the rest of the country. Say or post something that is completely false or made up, they are put in a position to have to defend (and with it believe it themselves) the completely indefensible.

His second motive is to keep throwing $hit out time after time after time, to confuse and overwhelm the media and population at large. With everything at this point completely muddled, the zombie base (and the GOP and conservative media) all being united in screaming one thing (as completely insane as it is 99% of the time) wins the day.

He revels in destroying the country, but that is just a bonus, and is a result of him being him.

There is/are a puppet master(s) domestically and internationally. There is NO way tRUMP is knowledgeable enough to know who to target within our Government with such precision. Sure AG's are obvious but EPA, DHS, all the way to the judge ships tRUMP has been targeting specific departments, people and courts. Bannon may still be helping and Moscow Mitch is for sure but there is someone with a deeper over riding view who is guiding tRUMPS efforts. Who? On the world stage I still believe it's Putin representative. The kompormat they have on tRUMP isn't about $, lying or Russian entanglements of a financial nature, or even PPing on a bed with some hookers. (It's obvious that NONE of those things, bad as they are, bother the tRUMP cult or even tRUMP). But, videos of tRUMP with underage girls is another thing. Even the rePUBICS would bolt from him if that came to light. THAT is what Putin or someone has over tRUMP.

The end game for America is not looking good. tRUMP and Kushner have proven over decades that all they care about is money. F the US, F the law just give us money. Now, tRUMP and Kushner have America's deepest secrets in their pockets and they are willing and eager to trade them for $$$$$$$$$$$$. Already happened with Kushner sharing secret intel with Saudis and suddenly the devil building that was about to put them into bankruptcy get a billion dollar "rental" agreement form a Middle Easter player. What else they have profited from on the backs of US security is still unknown.

And, when they leave office they will still trade on these secrets. Even a few years in jail (Kushner's old man did some time) then finds them out and free to continue treason against America for $$$.

What oh what can we do?

Can I add one thing.. for trump, it is not even the money. It is that he knows there is something horribly, terribly wrong with him. He is a totally empty shell. He is a dead being. He has no life. The only way he can feel that he even exists is through the recognition from other people. So, he needs the constant attention, the praise. To get it, he believes he needs $$$$$$. It could be anything-- horses, in another culture, or great areas of land, or....WOMEN !!!

The true extreme of co-dependency....

Also---His life is one of abject fear!!!

Another reason he is such a sadist.. If he hurts others, it relieves his own pain.

It had never occurred to me that the 2nd point was true until I realized that Trump in totally
amoral, if not immoral. In that case , he could possibly be willing to sell America out for a large amount of cash. I hope that we are both wrong.

In any event, he most definitely has no business being the supreme commander of the United States.
