almost all of it in effect. These guys are projecting the threat of right wing violence on the left and sounds like they've convinced each other it's real against all evidence. Still, it'd it'd only take one outraged jerk throwing one of them on his head, so their liberal neighbors are even a tad safer for avoiding them.

Is there any evidence? Disappointed that Raw Story went with that quote. Instead, perhaps a reminder that Trump raised $12 million with two Hampton fund raisers just recently.

Mon Aug 12, 2019, 01:12 PM
Aug 2019

Their second homes will be long gone, but when the global economy collapses and money ceases to have residual value, they won't be able to pay people to protect them and the only valuable resources will be food and water.

Their first homes will be mansions of unsustainable opulence, monuments to a fool-hardy era and stupidity of man writ large.

Kill the rich? Why bother? The ammo will be needed for sustenance hunting and there is not enough nutritional value in the fattest fat cat to waste ammo on when the shit really hits the fan.

They are going to learn - painfully for most of them - that their real contribution to human existence is stunningly shallow and ultimately worthless. Making money off of the inheritance (50+% of these idiots in the first place?) and or movement of money (hedge funds and bankers) will have absolutely ZERO value when the greatest concern becomes not starving or dying of thirst in the next week...

Climate change is real. It is vastly further along than anyone was allowed to let on for decades and it will end all of this pointless squabbling once and for all before its over. And when it is over, the planet will belong to the remaining insects and fungi...maybe next time evolution will get it right.

in large degree from cultural shifts. Smoking was no longer 'cool' despite Marlboro type ads and older movies.

Smokers were pushed out the door of many establishments - pitied, scorned, associated with communicable disease.

I remember how relieved I was as a non-smoker when those rules started coming into being. I had contact lenses at the time, and smoke really bothered me a lot while I struggled to get used to them (but never really managed to). Too much invented cigar smoke could make me feel ill.

I was SO glad and relieved and grateful when smokers began to have to take their smoking outside. In planes and restaurants and more.

I’d leave the house for school in the morning and my clothes would reek and I could smell it in my long hair. I smelled it in the kitchen sponge when I went to soap up a pan from dinner after my mother had used it to wipe out an ashtray. Literally almost vomited.

I remember being out to dinner with friends and there was a man smoking a big fat cigar AT THE NEXT TABLE. Smoke always seemed to follow me and sure enough, it was unavoidable. So I got up and went over to him and politely and nicely and quietly as I could, asked if he could put the cigar out while we were at the next table trying to eat. And he bellowed at me “I most certainly will NOT!!!”

When I returned to my seat and explained what had happened, which they all had been easily able to hear anyway, one of the guys bellowed back “WELL SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST ASSHOLES!!!!! When those anti-smoking laws started happening, I thought about that rude old cigar guy A LOT. And it always made me smile. A LOT.

The first two things he/she did upon moving in is to put up a help wanted sign then they put up a big electronic sign on the building in front of their business. Part of the time the sign has an American flag, then MAGA flashes on it.

We have a number of established HVAC places around town, many large outfits and many highly rated with the BBB. Why would anyone want to alienate a very significant number of households and still think they can be competitive with the more established businesses.
