In listening to Rachel's opening, it suddenly struck me how damned comforting it is

to listen to someone who knows how to pronounce "nuclear".

Even mundane vestiges of normalcy and intellect are precious in this time of celebrated ignorance.

Watching Colbert from last night and even the appropriate making fun of the blithering idiot traitor causes me stress to watch, his voice makes me fucking ill.

...to catch up. I so enjoy her intelligence, her earnestness, her research -- and her big vocabulary, it has to be said. And I will never, ever forget how she was handed the breaking news about the babies in cages, and choked up so bad she had to hand it off and go to commercial break.
