Jeffrey Epstein died -- after both guards 'fell asleep': report

.

Both guards assigned to protect accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein fell asleep while they were supposed to be protecting him from himself, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

“The two guards who were in the jail unit where Jeffrey Epstein apparently killed himself fell asleep and failed to check on him for about three hours, then falsified records to cover up their mistake, a law enforcement official and a prison official said on Tuesday,” the newspaper reported.

“Those disclosures came as the two guards were placed on administrative leave and the warden of the jail, the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, was temporarily reassigned, pending the outcome of the investigation into Mr. Epstein’s death, the Justice Department announced,” The Times noted.

The report also says the correctional officers falsified records logging their required 30 minute checks on Epstein.

“Such false entries in an official log could constitute a federal crime,” the paper reported. “In fact, the guards had been asleep for some or all of the three hours, the officials said.”

Only one of the two guards was even a correctional officer.

Someone slipping them something to put them to sleep is a kind of Anything is possible, but that seems unlikely.

More likely a whole lot of incompetence and people not doing their jobs.

Lamine N'Diaye appears to be a West African name, and Google results suggest Senegal or Cote d'Ivoire.

Not even the second most famous Lamine N'Diaye either...

Lamine N'Diaye (born 18 October 1956) is a Senegalese football coach and former player who is the manager of Sudanese club Al-Hilal.

Lamine Ndiaye (born 19 June 1995) is a French footballer who currently plays for CFA club GSI Pontivy as a defender.

However, that could simply be a function of French "football colonialism" by which France provides special immigration privileges to soccer players in former French possessions in Africa, thus spurring the development of African players while depriving their national teams of their best native players.

Sure. Easily. Numpties by definition aren't that bright.

After: Now you've been disciplined for what you've done, nobody will believe what you say ... BTW, you do still want your pension, right?

Next question?

Edit ... also, how is this falsification 'required' for 'the plan'? Esp. given if there WAS 'a plan', we don't actually know what it was?

Edit 2 ... just because DoJ is saying these numpties falsified documents, that must therefore ... be true?

Need a body that can pass for Epstein to get carried to the coroner?

By the way, when some prisoners get charged a daily fee for their incarceration or their ankle monitors, how come Epstein couldn’t have been forced to pay for adequate guards? Or El Chapo, for that matter?

so I actually find this believable based on the stories Ive heard about the amount of overtime he’s forced to work. He had to negotiate to be allowed to take his vacation by working even more overtime. Between these facilities being used to detain migrants and a federal hiring freeze, the staff is really being pushed to the wall. But the thing I don’t believe is why Epstein was taken off suicide watch. I understand his lawyers asked for this, but why did the jail agree? And why did they remove his cell mate? That’s very weird.

https://gothamist.com/2019/08/13/epstein_mcc_conditions.php

This past February, a British appeals court blocked the extradition of alleged hacker Lauri Love to the United States, where he would have most likely been held at either MCC or the federal jail in Brooklyn, the Metropolitan Detention Center.

The court determined that Love, who has been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and depression, would be at high risk of suicide if he were extradited, in part because of the poor mental health care available at the facilities. MDC and MCC share a single psychiatrist and each have only a handful of psychologists on staff, according to court documents, raising questions about whether the two facilities could adequately treat the nearly 500 inmates suffering from significant psychiatric illnesses.

In the past fifteen years, at least one correctional officer at MCC has been convicted of beating an inmate, and at least three guards have been found guilty of sexually assaulting prisoners. In 2016, a former correctional officer at MCC was sentenced to seven years behind bars for raping a woman detained at the facility. “Even in my dreams, I am suffering flashbacks where I’m repeatedly raped,” the woman told the court. And this past April, a guard was arrested for taking bribes to smuggle food, alcohol and cellphones into the facility.

Guards sleeping on the job barely moves the needle on the shittiness scale of MCC.

While you would think two guards would keep each other awake, if they weren't used to overnight shifts, falling asleep would be easy. Epstein didn't want to live. He knew all eyes were on this trial and it was going to be a guilty verdict with lots of time attached. Who would want to continue to live under those circumstances. He probably noticed that the guards missed their check in with him and figured he had an opportunity to kill himself. Which he did. It sucks for his victims but hopefully they can get some compensation.

The uncertified guard would never have "fallen asleep" unless the trained guard said it was ok, unless they were paid. If the certified guard actually told the newbie "We ALL sleep every night" then a routine check of logs against corridor cameras should result in dozens fired and criminally charged. And that is your tell-tale-if there is no mass firing it was a set-up. Never believe it was common practice unless that is exposed-and even then the fact it was common practice may be used to cover criminal malfeasance.
