As we face every new day, who would have thought

"Life would be so much better if I just don't pay any attention."

Genius!

Just what we need, more ignorant, by choice, mind you, individuals
of the wildfire burning out of control that surrounding us....

3. No cable in my place for eleven years.

Its absence is not in fact, a key to the ignorance you imply.

Cable telly is in fact, merely one of many, many options... some better, others worse.

I don't know how anyone can submit themselves to that garbage. It is 90% pharmaceutical ads and "reality show" bullshit.

4. So you think what you see on the TV screen is what makes one intelligent?

Wow! The smartest people I know either don't watch TV news (myself included) or don't even own a TV.

So glad my parents taught me that watching too much of the boob tube would dumb me down.

Next up for ridicule - a liberal arts degree.

5. The point is to stop repeating and retweeting and rehashing and reanalyzing the same garbage

from the same biased talking heads every time they fart. The point is to de-value their commentary, and in particular not pass it along or rehash it or express outrage over it, all of which accomplish their goal...repetition of the same lies until they become accepted fact by many. Cable is just a withering appendage of today's multi-tenacled disinformation machine. It's about demonetizing and devaluing disinformation across all media platforms and supporting responsible journalism and social media.

Repeating FOX Noise lies in outrage does as much harm as repeating them in agreement. Networks, social or cable, that gives the shite supremacists and the climate change deniers and the discredited neo-cons or the corporate kleptocrats a chair in any discussion or panel should be ignored as paid advertising.

The McLaughlin Group is starting back up soon with many people's favorite racist asshole Pat Buchanan on board...anyone here think his commentary is worth the attention of even one brain cell? I'm far too old and too tired to waste any of the little time or energy I have left on people that pass off farts as wisdom.

7. I've been feeling like we're stuck in the movie 'Groundhog Day'

Every day we wake up feeling like this is the day the bad dream ends and every day is only a repetition of the same morning news. They normalize him every morning, all over again, and again, and again no matter how he’s been exposed at the end of each and every day before.

It’s insane! Or maybe it’s just driving us insane.

I’ve been watching less and less. Just long enough each day to hear if there is other news breaking. I really don’t want to miss Trump’s final days.

8. My FiOS Triple Play Package is now $218/mo. They cut Cinimax and upped rental fees after renewal.

.

I was paying $209 a month for all services. They've been slowly pulling them and jacking up hardware rental fees starting the month after I renewed my 2-year contract. When the next renewal happens, I'm just getting High-Speed Internet and fuck the rest!

I find myself just using HBO for a few shows and MSNBC a few times a week for Rachel and O'Donnell. The rest of my watching comes via the internet. I subscribed to the Philly Inquirer and they've been jacking those rates up, and I primarily get it for the Sunday inserts. They're another one that I'm going to cut, since half the time the inserts are missing.

I tried to support local press, but that's getting frustrating. I've been shifting donations to several web content providers.
