A pickup truck drove into a row of Jewish protesters demonstrating at the street entrance to an ICE detention center in Rhode Island on Wednesday night. It appears no one was seriously injured.

Protesters were then pepper-sprayed, according to people present at the protest.

Never Again Action tweeted that the car belonged to a guard at the detention center.

“Oh my god,” the group tweeted. “An ICE Detention Center guard just drove their truck straight through a line of us sitting peacefully to block the parking lot. There don’t appear to be major injuries, still assessing the situation, police are moving in *on us* now.”

Minutes later, guards at the detention center pepper-sprayed the protesters.

“All of us who were in the vicinity caught some of the tear gas,” Rofeberg said.

“It was shocking, it was unexpected,” he added. “There’s some amount of risk when you go to an action like this. You don’t expect it to unfold like this.”

Meanwhile Republicans are busy lamenting how the Democrats are the real Anti-Semites.

While listening to Thom Hartmann today a lady called in, "Just discovered your show while scanning. I am furious at what you are pushing. I had family escape the German death camps. 17. There are no generalizations that can possibly be true of any one group of people who are

segregated by ethnic/cultural, religious, political, sexual orientation, gender or age priorities. I once looked up the self-identified religious priority of persons incarcerated in the US prison system. Try it! The majority identify as Christian with smaller groups of other religions that Include the Jewish faith. If we know a little about human nature we know there are lots of bad people around but the determining factor seems to be behavior, not membership in any of the various groups I mentioned earlier. As far as Jews go, I'd rather have the influence of Mel Brooks than Benjamin Netanyahu, but that's only my personal prejudice that I feel very comfortable with.

I would wonder though, if incarcerated people would grasp at Hope and forgiveness any where they could get it and gravitate toward the most promising religion, or someone's version of it, and many times get wrapped into a cult's interpretation of one of the many religious options. Seems Christianity has gotten very warped in America but then think of where ISIS and Taliban have taken the Muslim Faith. Highest bidder, if you well. What fits my needs the most. Many other religions have taken the carnival barker approach to recruit with much success now that humans have gotten desperate for Hope of some kind. 100 percent with you on Mel over Netanyahu.
