They pointed to those outside the administration floating a Greenland purchase as a potential legacy-builder for Trump, similar to President Dwight Eisenhower's purchase of Alaska, the paper added.

fill airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed. They brush up against journalism on occasion, but it is not something planned on their part.

Alaska became a state in 1959 when Eisenhower was president.
There is no excuse for that kind of mistake.

...and it became the 49th State on Jan 1, 1959, during Ike's second term.

purchased Alaska.
