Whenever they build these things up, the police come out in force. And things are usually kept pretty quiet then. Whenever they ignore them, that's when things get violent. Police stood back and did nothing in Charlottesville, even though countless hours of video taken show it was the right wingers that started the violence. But at the end of the day, the police would like nothing better than to beat up leftist protesters themselves, so they stood back and let it happen, as they have done time and again. But when leftists defend themselves, then they're the aggressors in the eyes of the law.
