Missouri city apologizes after smiling selfies of police officers taken near where dead infant was found.A city official in Missouri has issued an apology after two selfies of grinning police officers were snapped not far from the wooded area where an infants remains were discovered earlier this week. Columbia Community Relations Director Steven Sapp said a community relations team member, who often works with the police department, took the photos while officers sought out clues in the infants death.
Authorities responded to reports of possible human remains in Northern Columbia. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered the body of an infant less than one year in age, according to a press release.
Out keeping the streets safe while taking a quick selfie, one of the captions read.
The second photo was paired with the words: Officers out enjoying the fresh air."
The Columbia Police Department said it removed the photos from its platforms and apologized for any insensitivity the photo invoked, saying the selfies were not meant to take away from the seriousness of the tragedy.

Out keeping the streets safe while taking a quick selfie,
BUT, they DID take away from the seriousness of the situation, otherwise why did you remove the photos from your platform???
