President Trump wants to detain migrant families. Washington AG Ferguson may sue.

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson appears headed to court against the Trump Administration for the 47th time, over a just-announced rule that would allow the federal government to lock up migrant families indefinitely.

The administration would throw out a decades-old court agreement -- the Flores Settlement -- that has limited how long the federal government can hold children in custody and the level of care that they receive.

President Trump has used a fishing term, "catch and release," to describe limitations placed on the Department of Homeland Security.

"This administration recently argued that it's not inhumane to fail to provide detained children soap, toothbrushes, or a place to sleep. Now it's trying to legitimize its cruel treatment," Ferguson said in a statement.

"This is outrageous and we are examining our legal options. Stay tuned."

I'm sure there will be others joining Ferguson.
