i dont think we should kill the filibuster, even tho

the senate itself is deeply undemocratic.
i just think they should take it back to the talking filibuster. honestly, i think that is the moral high ground.

something has to be done, tho. the senate is a vulgar joke.

jeff merkley talking about it on mtp right now.

I agree. The filibuster should be a tool to delay, not kill legislation. Midnight Writer Aug 2019 #1
or maybe we can limit it to 2 a month. mopinko Aug 2019 #2

After all, the Repubs did away with the filibuster rule in order to pass their judges and their tax cuts. It seems a little unwise to not protect yourself and your constituency by playing by the same rules when you get the majority. Once the Republicans begin to feel like they may be a permanent minority, then we could debate whether we would like to return to the old rules of the filibuster.

Just my opinion.

He shut things down during the Obama Adminstrator to make sure that nothing got passed and nominees for the judiciary were Shut down. Then he made it impossible for Democrats to use it during the tRump administration. I don’t want to see them regain the power to shut down the Senate again. The republicans have lost any sense of how a deliberative branch should work.

If the Senate republicans are not going to be deliberative then maybe it’s time to abolish the senate.
