President Donald Trump is known for making an entrance everywhere he goes - but he left the wrong impression when his helicopter scorched the Queen's lawn at Buckingham Palace, according to a new report in The Sunday Times.
In the first week of June, Trump traveled to the United Kingdom for an official state visit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, which took place on June 6, 2019.
Trump's presidential helicopter, Marine One, reportedly burnt the grass upon landing at Buckingham Palace two times in the same day.
The Queen then complained about the damage to the grass to another state leader, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, a source close to Morrison told The Times.

(32,637 posts)Do they carry the copter in the hold of Air Force One? For that matter how does he get all the limos over to England, or wherever he's flying? It must be an entire fleet of Air Force One jets taking all this stuff around with him - including the entire Chump family and most of the White House employees.

(1,296 posts)Is like Air Force One....it is the designation of any helicopter carrying the president. At least I think thats the case... They dont have to schlep a particular helicopter around with them.

(24,368 posts)Because the blades are hinged and can be folded back.
The VH3D Sea King in the picture you used has had its rotor blades removed.
Its a much bigger pain in the ass to take the Sea King than it is to take the S-60.
Also it should be remembered that GW Bush landed on the palace lawn as well, so Trump isnt the first

One would think we could be more respectful of our allies......
