It was perhaps the greatest movie promo in the history of over the top movie promos.
Punking an entire political convention with performance art that previews his upcoming movie role
Now THAT takes some serious balls.
Clint has just solidified his position as one of the greatest showmen of his generation with this legendary performance.
I bow in awe of his sheer chutzpah.
Either that, or
The RNC, in a moment of complete incompetence, ran the entire convention off the rails right before the two most important speeches of the event, Rubio and Romney.
Clint just put an exclamation point on three nights of an ugly, shambling mess.

(34,845 posts)But I agree with your 2nd premise. Clint was falling down stupid at the convention. His new movie sounds derivative and boring, too.
Still love the Sergio Leone movies, though!

He is completely overshadowing Mitt today. Why run a clip of boring Mitt when you can run Clint & Chair!

(128,921 posts)He's a year younger than Eastwood and he has made an amazing new career out of self-effacing performance art. Any who have followed some of his antic performances over the past decade will recognize how acerbic he can be, not unlike what Eastwood just did. The above ad just premiered a couple weeks ago.
Also, recall this?
It gives comfort that you're not the only ones who see absurdity passed off as something that is legitimate and "normal" by one very vocal and powerful group, aided and abetted by the news media, and fortunately mocked by the rest of society.
