...of an Iranian missile launchpad, and YOU'RE having a cow over Joe Biden confusing a Bronze Star with a Silver Star?
What the fuck is WRONG with you people!?

(5,954 posts)conflating two different war stories that ACTUALLY HAPPENED; while Trump's insane, surrealist, stream of consciousness lies are so numerous that the MSM just writes them off as the dog-bites-man story of the day. "BIDEN said something that was SLIGHTLY wrong, so there's our man bites DOG story!"

(54,770 posts)trump is a security risk for sure, among many other detestable things, but I'm not sure there was any disclosed in the satellite photo that could hurt or compromise us.

https://www.nytimes.com/President Trumps message was unusual because the Iranian government had neither acknowledged the accident nor blamed the United States.
He defended using the high-resolution image of the disaster in the tweet: We had a photo and I released it, which I have the absolute right to do.

(6,831 posts)Even when he doesn't. Let's remember the other times he's done something similar, like spreading classified documents all over the tables at Marm-ma-loco, when PM Shinzo Abe was there last year for a meet and great with golf club members mulling around the tables. Or the loose-lips comments he's let slip. I think he does it to be the Big Wheel Guy.
What he fails to realise is that his antics reveal things to our more hostile frenemies what we have and what we are capable of obtaining, whether via military satLink or high-resolution drone craft. He keeps giving away our aces, letting them read our cards.
Right now there have got to be some high-ranking DoD types grabbing a third martini or changing their skivvies over yet another unforced, yet damaging, error.

(22,514 posts)he ipso facto declassified it. The president cannot leak classified information.
So...if I know a humiliating secret about you and I tell people, I didn't betray your secret because by divulging it, it's not a secret.

(12,586 posts)In the instance of the photo of the destroyed rocket launcher, our enemies now can estimate the resolution of our surveillance imagery, and they know we can get a camera over any place in the world within hours. Those are two big gets for enemy intelligence.
In return, President Shit-for-Brains gets to show off what he knows, while causing our intelligence agencies to reevaluate -- for about the hundredth time -- what they reveal in their PDB. I doubt they'll ever include a high-resolution image again. Probably they'll get one from Google Earth and slap a "Top Secret - Eyes Only" stamp on it.
In fact, here's the latest imagery of Iran's advanced transportation system that's going to be in Monday's PDB.

(14,531 posts)I want to know what device he used to post that tweet.
If he used his phone he had to send the pic to it, then tweet. If he used a PC, what one? The president has a PC that receives top secret info, did he tweet the pic from that one? The embedded info on a pic? did he bother to strip thatout?
