Tom Cotton thinks the sacrifices of farmers are "minimal" compared to the military.

Compare apples and oranges much, Tommy?

Tom Cotton thinks farmers going bankrupt thanks to Trump's trade war have it pretty good compared to soldiers.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) has a disgraceful new defense for Trump's unnecessary trade war: that it's fine if farmers are going bankrupt because their sacrifices are "minimal" compared to the sacrifices made by members of the military.

On Monday's edition of "CBS This Morning," Cotton was asked about a recent study showing farmers in Arkansas will be hurt by the trade war.

"Is President Trump hurting the Americans he promised to help?" asked anchor Norah O'Donnell.

"There will be some sacrifice on the part of Americans, I grant you that," Cotton said. "But also I would say that sacrifice is pretty minimal compared to the sacrifices that our soldiers make overseas, that our fallen heroes who are laid to rest in Arlington make."

"You can't compare those two sacrifices," anchor Gayle King said, seeming taken aback that Cotton would try.

But Cotton doubled down. He claimed that farmers "look at the sacrifices soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines make around the world, and they're willing to bear some of the sacrifices in the short term, to hopefully in the long term ensure our long-term prosperity and security."

but isn't yours the party that wants to cut veteran benefits? Isn't yours the party that wants to deny children of serving families overseas, birthright citizenship? How can you claim that you are concerned about military families when you support this shit?

That right wingers don't see the hypocrisy of these kinds of statements is just

He stayed in as long as he needed to, got himself a piece of colored ribbon, and was out the door before he got his ass fragged!!!

He then joined a political party that uses the military and veterans as a talking point, all the while trying to cut veterans benefits and active duty families access to needed assistance!

The man is another poser, like Kid Rock...

A campaign ad that intercuts Cotton claiming farmers' sacrifice will be "minimal" with scenes of farm bankruptcy auctions will resonate.

Right. The ag sector--farmers and farm support--could potentially lose big time and long term if China keeps investing in Brazil and other sources to simply replace U.S. agriculture.

I'm not even sure Dump's trade war isn't just him getting revenge for some private scam he tried to pull years ago that China didn't fall for.
