"The Family" - National Prayer Breakfast

Last edited Wed Sep 4, 2019, 02:07 AM - Edit history (2)

If I'm late to the party on this documentary... Well, sorry.

I ran into this documentary on Netflix called "The Family." It is as eye opening as it is scary. It finally answered a few important questions I had concerning the rise of the Right and the evangelical "offensive" front.

It is quite long and very comprehensive.

"Where does politics end and religion begin?"

I strongly recommend this documentary to the knowledgeable as well as those who are still learning.

ON EDIT: lunateca has a great synopsis of the documentary at the link below. Well written on the subject prior to my post. A good read.

I began to understand how things arrived at where they are.

And... It's still going. 80 years.

After reading a few of the reviews along with what you've said about the doc on Netflix, it's in my Amazon cart.

Make more sense after watching this.
Kinda been bubbling beneath the surface, not really making sense. Mostly because in the past I was to lazy to pay attention.
Looking forward to reading the book .

My question is where does the money come from to pay for the property and support the programs?
Will be paying more attention in the future.

The speaker in Portland was very impressive.

Pegged the bastards, too:

Coe listed other men who had changed the world through the strength of the covenants they had forged with their “brothers”: “Look at Hitler,” he said. “Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Bin Laden.” The Family, of course, possessed a weapon those leaders lacked: the “total Jesus” of a brotherhood in Christ.
