4. Broke a story involving military flights...

diverting to Scotland on flights to the Middle East and spending money to refuel at civilian rates and putting the aircrews up at Trump's Scontland resort.

5. The officers involved in covering this up and resisting Congressional requests for information

will eventually be in big trouble over it.
Trump will not be president much longer, and the military takes a dim view of dishonorable actions such as this.
It could result in reductions in rank and early dismissal from the service.

8. There are many US bases enroute they could have gotten refueled at.

And they would have been a lot closer, and as the article points out, a lot less expensive.
Azores, Spain, Italy, Greece to name a few. Some even have golf courses.

Why the hell would you ship things to Alaska first? THEN ship them to Kuwait? Regardless of where you refuel on the way to/from Kuwait.
