South Florida is still flooded

Palm Beach County health experts warn of flood water dangers

I used to live in this area in the early 90's and we really liked it there. But now it is becoming more and more clear that we over-developed this area. At first you had to purchase 5 acres before you could build your house here, then they changed it to 1 acre. Now some areas are less than 1/3 of an acre. You can't have that many people in a swamp. We do live in the Everglades. Now there is nowhere for the water to go. The fish in the canals are dying and just flowing into people's yards. People cannot use their septic tanks. They can't drink their well water. It's a major disaster. And very sad to see my former home so destroyed.

with developmental rules in order to create non existant jobs.

This state was an amazing, beautiful place for a long time, now it's dying due to over development

and a republican legislature.

If you look at Pasco county, they are experiencing sink holes, of all things, an outbreak of sinkholes,

no doubt due to building over a limestone strata where the only thing that should be there would be

orange groves. But, now the citizens insurance bastards are claiming that "sinkhole fraud" is occurring

and jacking up premiums beyond what folks can afford, when in all actuality, nothing should be on that land

except for trees and an occassional wood structure.

I'm in Pinellas, where they want to put oil rigs on the gulf coast skyline. They're idiots and want to destroy every
thing to make a buck.

...lots of lights around it, but Tampa seemed to have a LOT of dim bulbs...

(must've been some sort of power drain...?)

and is going to remain that way for some time. We were building power lines in the wetlands (Everglades) and we were already in knee to chest deep water. After Isaac we couldn't even drive the largest piece of machinery we had.
